For many of us when it comes to our lives we unfortunately see ourselves as builders that are supposed to construct something new in order to find our fulfillment, happiness, and peace.
These days is not rare to hear that we need to keep trying hard to be more like Jesus by imitating Him and His every move. Yet the reality is for most of us that the harder we try to do this the further we seem to always get from making this task a continuos reality in our lives. Today as I continue to look at the Gospels, the Epistles, and even more importantly the words of Jesus the more convinced I become that all of these were never meant to be the final design for our lives but instead the starting point from where an inward journey was meant to begin.
Consider today that perhaps the Bible was never meant to be a blueprint to help us build something outside as much as it was supposed to be a book full of clues that were meant to help us discover a hidden treasure and a pearl of great value within (Matthew 13:44-46). Furthermore, also consider that perhaps our roles were never meant to be as circumstantial Builders, but instead as Archeologists that instead of building something new on the outside, we were meant to discover the real person that God made in His image, nature, and likeness and hid (1 Peter 3:4) together with His Kingdom (Luke 17:21) within our hearts.
