I understand what it means to work and live under constant pressure. I also understand what is like when expectations from others are high and we are expected to deliver winning results constantly…yet I have also discovered that if we are going to personally thrive and exceed these targets it is going to have to be done in the complete opposite way than most of us go about it.
You see, my job was carried out in front of millions of people each week every time one of my players played a match. The judgement scale used to judge my work was simple. If they won I was a great coach if they lost I was no good. Over time the pressure of this environment and the lack of results began to take a toll on me and my life. As I began to look closer into my situation I realized that I too was measuring my worth along the same lines. If they won I was great and blessed and if they lost I was clearly no good and falling short in some area, hence the lack of results.
