Often what we treasure is also what we look to validate our lives. What validates our lives usually influences what is important to us and where we set our boundaries. It often acts as a reference point on what we are prepare to give up in order to be validated by it.
The problem when we have not understood that in God we have been already validated is that we try and find it in whatever we do and whomever we meet. Something inside of us drives us to somehow find a way to succeed so that we can feel we are worth something and be validated as someone who is worth loving. Many of us spend our whole lives looking for this validation. On the process we ruin relationships, opportunities, and even loved ones when they don’t give us, as they are not able to, what we are really after which is to be validated.
Is no wonder Jesus shared with us that our treasure would be whatever our heart was set on. You may continue to look for your treasure in others, in what you do, or what you have managed to get yet you need to understand that it will not be found in any of these as the treasure you are really looking for is already within your heart waiting for you to discover it.
Have a great week filled with real riches!
