The Way Out is In

When our lives constantly begin from our minds we are forced into a space where we need to make up our life as we go along as the mind, unlike the heart, is incapable of releasing an effortless and continuos outflow of life into our path.

This approach means that we are mostly absent as we spend most of our time looking for the next thing instead of enjoying what is before us. The coercion of success we suffer from pushes us to become anxious as we falsely believe that there must be a better way or a better situation for us than the one we are currently in. As believers, unfortunately, we are not exempt from this life consuming approach either. Often many of us when things get tough or perhaps not much seems to be happening we look to escape and normally mask this motivation by telling others that we feel God is calling us out and away.

Today as you begin this week consider that this calling away could indeed be God but then it could also be nothing more than your endless search to find happiness and peace through your ever changing circumstances and what you do, instead of whom and whose you are. Consider also that if you pray from this position what you are actually asking God for is not an open door that will lead you to the next natural step in your journey but instead for him too continue to support your dependance on the ever appealing illusion of freedom we so easily become attached to called – the way out.

Remember – in the Kingdom the way out is in – deeper into your heart because it is there that you will find the Kingdom and its abundant life that Jesus promised everyone us.

Have a great week.
